ABOUT

RICARDO YEBRA

1990, MÁLAGA

Ricardo Yebra began to be interested in cinema at age fifteen thanks to a teacher he had a deep admiration for. After several years making small productions that allowed him to become familiar with the medium, he made the leap to the feature film with LADO B (2018). This documentary meant a year and a half journey through Latin America, a journey that ended up becoming an adventure not only on a professional but also on a personal level. The possibility of combining both facets is precisely what moves him, and today he has managed to make it a way of living.

Degree in ‘Media studies’ with specialization in cinema (Carlos III of Madrid) and Master’s Degree in ‘Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies’ (Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona). He is currently developing his project “Master of darkness” within the framework of the Master in ‘Creative Documentary’ at this last university.

Films

Documentary feature film premiered in the Official Section of the Malaga Film Festival. He received worldwide recognition at the Santiago Álvarez International Documentary Film Festival.

Remedios (2018) is Ricardo Yebra’s most personal short film. At first it was not intended to be nothing more than a gift to his beloved ones, but he finally decided to make it public. It is the only project that for personal reasons has not had distribution at festivals.

Fiction short film awarded at the 400 Corti Film Fest (Italy) and at the XI SorsiCorti International Short Film Festival (Italy) with the ‘lo nel Mondo’ award.

Documentary short film premiered at the Madrid Film Festival (FCM) New Directors Platform (PNR).
